As most people live in cities, the first few days we reflect interpreting a personal view of the cityscape and living in the city. The focus is in the scale, between the size of a city and its people living there. The participants reflect also the interaction between people and their hometown. These views will be expressed in (digital) photography, painting or any creative means familiar to the participant within the green surroundings of Boisbuchet.

During the second part, participants translate their view or sensation into physical form. These can be objects with a function or expressing a creative viewpoint through various means and results can vary in sizes. Scale and proportion will have important role in showing the relation of the city and the people. Finally it will be exhibited together with the visual work form the first part of the workshop.

Roberto Paoli

Roberto Paoli was born in Ancona and studied architecture in Florence where he discovered his love for design. He entered the professional design world while still a student, initially as an inventor and later as a designer, devising and realizing all manner of objects. The results were sometimes bizarre and sometimes brilliant.
Since 1996, he has worked in close collaboration with FELLOWES, creating office products that are sold all over the world. And through his designs with FIAMITALIA, he discovered and developed his passion for glass.
In 1998, Paoli got in touch with Tucano to start on a project very precious to him. The "Mouse Pad d'Autore" series is a unique collection of mouse pads, created in collaboration with prominent individuals from the world of design and Italian culture. The proceeds are donated to FAI (Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano - the Italian National Trust). Today, Paoli is the design director for Tucano, coordinating the entire product range from bags to laptop computer accessories.
In 2001, Paoli made an important professional decision to relocate his studio from Ancona to Milan, which has enabled him to initiate new business collaborations. His clients include such names as NEMO, CASSINA, FIAMITALIA, MGX, SEGNO and SAN LORENZO. Parallel to this, he has also continued to pursue architectural projects, designing fashion boutiques, museum exhibitions, trade fair presentations and residential housing worldwide.
By now, he has achieved a clearly defined style. In addition to the poetic side of a project, he does not neglect the technical development and materials research in working to complete a design.
Roberto Paoli is highly engaged as a designer, continually searching for new artistic forms and embracing any activity that provides food for thought.
