Taking a walk around the park surrounding Boisbuchet, one can encounter a variety of installations, living and evolving sculptures left there and there by the people having participated to a previous workshop. This week has seen the new creations from Jon Otis's students invade specific places once again.
Jon Otis, who had already given a workshop last year, encouraged his students to use the natural frame of the property to create exhibition spaces telling a story relating directly to natural elements like the forest, the river, or the lake. He specified the importance of a sensorial approach, making the exhibition space become a place of experimentation and the creation for the visitor of a particular experience. Participants had to work with stories that they could tell, act or perform, to be later divided in groups according to their interests and skills.
The four groups had perfect weather conditions to install their work outdoor in four very different locations having each their own special atmosphere and characteristics.
The river hosted for 1 day a delicate wooden corridor through which one had to walk, feet in the river, to experience the passage from city to nature. At the end of it, a simple chair to let you taste the beauty of the scene, the noise of the river and the wind blowing in the branches attached to the structure.
