Experience x Experiment

29.07. - 04.08.2007

Shin Azumi has become a frequent visitor to Boisbuchet, he knows the site well and the possibilities around.

For the first exercise everyone had to express themselves without words, Azumi trying to make his group realize that they might one day be in a country where they do not understand the language so they had to make models which explained themselves.

After this warming up session, they split in to groups of 3 to 4 people to concentrate on theme of the week: "Experience x Experiment".

The aim of this workshop was to establish a compelling way to share sensations with other people trough their creations, without depending on the use of language. They explored first the feeling of harmony engendered by the surroundings of Boisbuchet, a phenomena that had to be digested and purified in order to maximize its potential.

It was crucial for Shin Azumi that the participants make the most of the location. The creations produced were based on the observation drawn from this pool of aesthetic sensations and feelings. Every group had chosen its own space across the domain to install its work, which proved to be very entertaining. Among other installations relating to nature, a human size hamster wheel was installed in the lake to the enjoyment of everyone.
