Liquid Fusion

Two days before the participants one large truck arrived and in it was an entire GlassLab studio including hot and cold shop which was then set up in the old barn building.

Paul Haigh teamed up with Steve Gibbs, Eric Meek and Michael from the Corning Museum of Glass during this workshop.

Daily group meetings were held to give critique about the pieces created and Paul explained the  physical characteristics and properties of glass and the challenges it claims as well as the possibilities.

The results of the week varied broadly since each participant found their own way of working during the week. Glass was blown into mud mounds, inlayed with metal or volcanic ash to create structure and pattern or used to create jewelry to name a few.

The remarkable ending of this week was marked by the presentation of the best pieces on a long table in the barn with a night of celebration to follow.
