Designing the grid for editorial design

Ricardo Salas came true to his program description – this workshop focused on paper. However paper was only the tool to express the qualities of the editorial grid and the golden section. Both of which Ricardo explained in daily lectures where he showed samples of his own work. During the week Ricardo held group discussions about the work progress, never forgetting to give everyone individual time. Three dimensional brochures for Boisbuchet were created, always respecting the golden section. The haptic and structural quality of paper played as well a role in the design which was developed. The brochures expressed structural integrity as well as harmony in their composition in relationship with the graphic elements which were applied to them.
