| A long walk marked the beginning of the week.
The landscape in Boisbuchet was explored while everyone observed on himself or herself what behavior stood out. Encouraged to walk by themselves or in a group each participant found interest in the character they will design a walking stick for. The brief was prior to the walk expanded to create a series of characters and to design for that particular person. Each of the participants designed their walking stick for that specific character, such as voyeur, shy, collector or mischievous. Group discussions were a tool to keep an open process where ideas can move and flow but with a target during the design process. Miniscuously for each character the criteria was established what is of importance and relates to him and how that influences the design of each of the walking sticks. User oriented design as a way to generate ideas. The final objects communicated a very strong idea using as little elements as possible to achieve that. Each participant was held to keep the essence but to simplify the idea to the basic quintessence and to explore the emotional side of an object. Objects were created, which are telling stories and therefore have an emotional attachment for their user.
