Go baroque, Go porcelain!

29.06. - 09.07. 2008
Participation fee: € 1350,- / € 1150,-

This porcelain workshop explores the art of the table – table decoration, tableware and table setting – as a means for staging the presentation of food. Imprinting, stamping and casting will serve as tools for the creation of forms; the colour white, the surface, the translucence present themselves as aspects of appearance. Objects will be generated that fulfil a useful function but can also stand on their own as individual pieces.

Naturalized animals, game and fish will provide further sources of inspiration, as a repertoire of forms and textures for the production of unique individual pieces or multiple objects. The research on the creation of forms will unfold as a course with successive stages: from the invention of forms to the prototype to the firing of the porcelain.

This workshop means to be an artistic summer retreat between "vanity" and baroque design.

For the fourth consecutive time, we offer a porcelain workshop in cooperation with ENSA). Due to the high success of this workshop over the previous years, we are happy to offer two porcelain sessions for the 2008 Programme. Still in partnership with the National Higher School of Arts (ENSA) of Limoges, the participants will benefit from classes at Boisbuchet, a field trip on porcelain in the region and from using the kilns and the workshop at ENSA.
