Design was once an essential tool for survival. In order to prevent global warming, maybe it should become that again? Maybe we can wean design off its love affair with product, and turn it to more useful ends? -- to give us, not better things, but better ways of doing things? Our survival does not just depend on objects and spaces, but also on the processes, activities, rituals, and relationships that we form between each other and our environments. When our familiar support systems are removed, we can appreciate our real needs.
In this workshop participants will interact with the landscape and environment of Boisbuchet, working together to develop social and physical structures of essential sustainable living. This could be a challenging workshop that requires a certain resourcefulness and resilience of participants willing to take up the challenge.
