The idea is to retell stories through existing forms: - by moulding pieces with porcelain of different colours (black or green) - by cutting out forms from existing moulds (plates, teapots, bowls etc.) - by cutting out existing decorations, from kitsch to modern ones, and adding them together in order to create hybrid objects which express their own design.
These three elements will allow to create “poems” by each artist. Re-write a sentence with words found at Boisbuchet.
For the fourth consecutive time, we offer a porcelain workshop in cooperation with ENSA). Due to the high success of this workshop over the previous years, we are happy to offer two porcelain sessions for the 2008 Programme. Still in partnership with the National Higher School of Arts (ENSA) of Limoges, the participants will benefit from classes at Boisbuchet, a field trip on porcelain in the region and from using the kilns and the workshop at ENSA. Fabrica: Established in 1994, Fabrica is a research institution that encourages the creative development of selected young professionals from all over the world. Funded by Benetton and housed in a striking building designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando outside of Treviso in Northern Italy, Fabrica’s activities ranges from graphic design to cinema, with industrial design, writing, interactive media, photography and music in between. The works produced at Fabrica are experimental projects which cross over between the art world and commercial sector blurring the boundary between art and communications.
