UniversitiesWe offer to universities and other educational institutions a range of options for organising workshops at Boisbuchet.
Participation in the regular workshop programme Participation in the regular summer courses is highly recommended for students. In addition to the advanced training in the individual subject areas, students benefit from the international experience they gain during the courses. Contacts are established with instructors and students from other countries, fostering an intercultural exchange among like-minded individuals. The engagement with the workshop leaders opens up opportunities, such as the possibility of doing a traineeship in renowned design studios. Moreover, students exercise and develop their English skills in the particular technical field. If more than five students from a particular university take part in the workshops, we give a discount on the participation fee.
Organisation of special workshops for university groups In cooperation with universities, we organise workshops specially tailored to the course of instruction of the respective institution. We handle the thematic conception, preparation and execution of the workshop (incl. accommodation and meals). These courses are primarily offered in the months of April, May, June and the as well as in September and October. The minimum number of participants for these workshops is 18-25 individuals, though we can also accommodate up to three groups of 18 participants each. Reservations have to be made long in advance.
Workshops & Architecture trips In combination with the workshops, we organise trips to international centres of design, architecture and art. In addition to viewing masterpieces of modern architecture, we visit design studios and organise special guided tours of select museums. We conduct trips to Milan, Barcelona, Paris and Basel and visit such sights as La Tourette Monastery (Le Corbusier), the Chapel of Notre Dame du Haut, Ronchamps (Le Corbusier) or the Salines Royales, Arc-et-Senans (Claude-Nicolas Ledoux). Reservations have to be made long in advance.
Use of Domaine de Boisbuchet for university-led projects In the months of April, May, June and the first half of July, we make Domaine de Boisbuchet available to universities and other organisations to carry out their own projects. The available infrastructure offers an optimal range of possibilities for putting on design, architecture and art seminars, theatre courses, musical projects and the like apart from the school context. The quietude and remoteness of the Domaine facilitate a concentrated and effective mode of working. Outside the course sessions, students can enjoy a wide variety of leisure and sports activities.
