

The area surrounding Boisbuchet offers numerous sights of interest. Poitiers and Limoges are old bishop’s seats with striking cathedrals, churches and town centres and a diversified cultural and commercial life. Located 9 km away, Confolens is a small Medieval town that hosts an international folklore festival in August. The surrounding region is rich in Romanesque architecture, with many villages and well preserved churches and market halls to be discovered as well as secluded monasteries and chateaus.
The Atlantic coast can be reached in about two hours. La Rochelle and Royan with the islands of Ile de Ré and Ile d‘Oleron just off the coast are attractive destinations for an excursion. Other possibilities include a tour of Bordeaux or a visit to the distilleries of Cognac.
