 Ernst Gamperl  Acacia wood  Sketches  Supervising  Transforming  Final results | From Material to Shape Returning to Boisbuchet for his 4th season, master wood turner Ernst Gamperl invited participants to discover the transformation of raw material into form Using acacia wood harvested from a fallen tree in Boisbuchet, the group began the workshop with an introduction to basic wood turning principles. Ernst urged participants to simultaneously explore various shapes and forms. Intense sketching resulted in detailed scale drawings of final projects. By day two, participants had begun to realize their projects on the lathe. Ernst supervised and assisted the group technically and formally as pieces were refined. A diverse collection was displayed to all on Friday evening as delicious white sangria was enjoyed around the table. A refreshing end to week of hard work. |
