Ola and Eero from CKR brought the plans for the sauna located in the woods at the shore of Boisbuchet lake, the foundation was build and the material ordered so construction could begin right away. Details still had to be figured out: the door handle, towel hangers, the water bucket… but none of this became very important. It was all about building a house in five days. A very different design experience! After one day of hard work the walls could already be lifted, and then lots of little tiring steps had to be taken until on Friday finally the roof could be lifted. 40 people’s muscle power contributed to this sophisticated action which is worth to be taken once in a lifetime. The workshop was exhausting and rewarding at the same time. Hammering and nailing like insane, being precise and inventive, working united for a common goal and every now and then watching the materials merging into structure, becoming part of the place, the leaves’ shadows taking over the surfaces… In the end big party under the self-made roof could be celebrated and from now on everybody will enjoy even more wellness in Boisbuchet. |
