Dear Friends of Boisbuchet,

dear Designers and Alumni,

After the great success of our competition with BOSCH in 2011 we are happy to announce a new competition, which concerns a much wider field - the future of cork applications. As a partner of the project we have the world market leader in cork production, Corticeira Amorim from Porto.

The motivation of the competition is to enhance the use of this material. Cork is probably one of the few sustainable materials still open to explore in terms of its high performance and characteristics.

A surprising raw material that is:

100% natural

100% recyclable and

100% renewable

With truly exceptional characteristics such as:

Triple insulation: vibratory, thermal and acoustic

Resistance to high temperature

Permeability to liquids

Flexibility, compressibility

Lightness

We invite you to participate in this competition and ask you to conceive and develop new applications for cork products or the improvement of existing products with cork.

Detailed information about Corticeira Amorim and the art of cork, along with an overview of the basic cork elements in use for today's products, can be found here.

If you are entering more than one work, please submit each work separately.
