Can we participate as a team ?

Yes you can participate as a team, but only one person from the team could be invited to come to Boisbuchet and realize the final product.

Waste from cork production:

There’s virtually no waste in the cork industry. After being harvested from the cork oak tree 8every nine years without damaging the three), the higher quality raw material is selected for cork stoppers production. All cork that has not enough quality or thickness to be used in cork stoppers production is grinded and used to produce agglomerated cork stoppers and cork agglomerates.

The waste from the cork stopper production (“apara” is the Portuguese word for that byproduct) is also incorporated in the production of these agglomerates, which are then transformed in all sorts of products (technical cork stoppers, included).

All byproducts resulting from cork manufacturing are either re-incorporated in the production of new agglomerates and composites or used as biomass for energy production.

When exactly is the final deadline for handing in entires ?

The deadline is the 30th of June 2012, Saturday night at 23:59 GMT
