Joost Conijn visiting in his self made plane

Joost Conijn at Boisbuchet

Joost Conijn, a dutch artist, has already flown Africa with his self made plane. In 2001 he travelled through East Europe in his self built car working on a wood-combustion engine, and the year before that he lived in Calais to get to know and document the way of living. Last week he landed near Boisbuchet with his 3rd plane, built from a Subaru engine, to give a workshop with us!

The artist started his career with works out of the ordinary, using his own body as the chassis of a fantastic vehicle that he had tested on the rooftop of his school in Amsterdam. Today, Joost Conijn is known as one of the most autonomous and extraordinary artists with his work, which is impossible to classify into only one discipline. This is why his objects and films, which show most of his actions, are part of the public and private collections through Europe. Furthermore, in 2005 he was nominated for the Prix de Rome.

His workshop in Boisbuchet on the first week of July was called "In the moment” and it implied risk. Stay tuned for the workshop results!
