SUMMER EXHIBITION 2014

PARADISE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS

JUNE 21ST – SEPTEMBER 21ST

Over the past 20 years, renowned architects from all over the world conceived innovative buildings for the Domaine de Boisbuchet and new projects are now on the way. ‘Paradise is a Work in Progress’ reveals the fascinating diversity of architecture designed for Boisbuchet’s bucolic setting – realised, failed, currently under construction or still in a state of pure vision.

Models, photos, drawings, films, as well as interactive terminals, invite visitors to peek ‘behind-the-scenes’ at the conceptual process behind this magic place.

This exhibition features bamboo structures by Simón Vélez and Markus Heinsdorff, Shigeru Ban’s first permanent building in Europe and the transformation of a 19th century pigsty into a library for design and architecture.

Check out a cuppola made of palm-leafs, discover Sou Fujimoto’s gardens with curtains, a pyramid of wooden slats or an adobe-building for future exhibitions and take a bird’s eye view of Boisbuchet’s 150 hectares by means of a master plan by German architects Brückner + Brückner.
