An immersive stay to slow down, experiment, and create together in close contact with nature
From May 26 to June 7, the Domaine de Boisbuchet welcomed young photographers from the Lette Verein school in Berlin for an exploratory visit, offering them a first look at the architecture, furniture design, and surrounding nature.
Far more than just a visit, this two-week stay allowed the students to refocus, draw inspiration from the site, and create together. In this natural environment, they had the opportunity to find a setting conducive both to rest and experimentation. Their arrival was marked by the light filtering through the woods, the silence, and the welcoming atmosphere of the domaine. Soon, the contrast with the city became clear: here, calm and slowness prevail. Invited to explore freely and attune themselves to the rhythm of the site, the students occupied the pavilions, the château, the workshop, as well as the natural surroundings to develop their projects. This new environment encouraged them to try new approaches, explore different materials, and bring forth original staging. Boisbuchet offered more than just a backdrop: it provided a space for experimentation and dialogue between art and nature.
Their work culminated in a final collective exhibition installed in one of the domaine’s pavilions, highlighting the diversity of their artistic approaches. As they left Boisbuchet for Berlin, the students carried with them a rewarding experience, both personal and shared, along with a new, more attentive approach to their practice and environment.
