Boisbuchet has an extensive architectural park of historical and contemporary buildings where we can host you as our guest. Enjoy our bright rooms with views to the French countryside. All rooms are furnished tastefully simple with antique and modern furniture set on tiled or wooden floors.

Rooms at the Dependance

Constructed around 1860, the Dependence originally served as the administrative building for all the farms associated with the Domaine with stables, laundry, granary etc. Today it contains guest rooms, sleeping quarters, offices, internet and conference rooms as well as galleries.

Rooms at the Bamboo House

Columbian architect Simón Vélez built the Bamboo House together with students on his second visit to Boisbuchet in 1999. For this two-storey guest house he employed a new technique: Vélez filled the hollow chambers at the pole’s junctions with concrete and inserted metal rods as connectors.

Meal-time is Meeting-time in Boisbuchet. It is the time when all guests and visitors gather together. Depending on the weather they take take place outside in front of the Dependence or inside in our restaurant building next to the Dependence. A loud gong announces meals and food will be served in buffet-style. During the summer season people from all over the world meet in Boisbuchet which can lead to interesting discussions around the tables.

Café by the Mill

The café is overlooking the river Vienne. It is an idyllic spot for an afternoon coffee or a relaxing evening drink.

Refresh yourself in the river Vienne. We are very lucky to have an in-river-pool made by Bertjan Pot and his participants during a workshop.

Supermarket – Shopping

You find a small shop in Lessac, the closest village to the Domaine, in 3km distance. There you get a small selection of food and beverage. The next supermarket (Intermarché SUPER) is in Confolens, reachable within 10 minutes by car. You can also find a few stores and restaurants in Confolens. The town is famous for its Dance and Music Festival, which takes place in August.

Surrounding Area

The Domaine de Boisbuchet is situated in the Charente department. It is named after the Charente River, the most important river in the department. More information about the region here

Boisbuchet is located in the Southwest of France, near the town of Confolens, between the cities of Limoges, Angoulême, and Poitiers.
The easiest way to reach Boisbuchet is by your private transport mean.
If you wish to reach us by public transport, we can organise a pick up service from and to Poitiers train station for an additional cost.
There are parking spaces available.

Payment will be taken once you arrive in Boisbuchet. The booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 2 days before arrival. After that, the full amount will be charged and invoiced to you.
