CONVERSATION PIECES

In this exhibition, the Argentine artist Sofia Alazraki portrays Boisbuchet’s founder, the German cultural entrepreneur Alexander von Vegesack.

Through a series of conver-sations the two have held over the past few months, Alazraki has identified key stages and themes that are characteristic
of the protagonist’s life story. For each of these aspects, she developed a distinct, three-dimensional scenario using objects selected from von Vegesack’s design collection.

Spread across the rooms of Boisbuchet’s castle, the result is, however, not an illustrated biography but an aesthetic reflection on ethical questions. Short texts based on the artist’s notes from her conversations accompany each of the instal-lations.
