GUIDED TOURS
GUIDED TOURS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL PARK
Innovative architecture within a 19th century landscape park
The guided tour presents Domaine de Boisbuchet’s architectural park and an annually changing exhibition at the Château.
The architectural park features buildings by architects Simón Vélez (Colombia), Shigeru Ban and Go Hasegawa (Japan), Markus Heinsdorff, Jörg Schlaich and Brückner & Brückner (Germany), the futuristic Techstyle-Haus, installations by Alvaro Siza (Portugal), Nikolay Polissky and Alexander Brodsky (Russia), Timur Ersen (France/Turkey), and Lina Ghotmeh (Lebanon) as well as a traditional Japanese guest house of 1864.
EXHIBITION – THE GENDER OF DESIGN
Nowdays, the role allocation of women and men and the definition of feminine and masculine are being redefined in all spheres of society. This questioning of sexes partly concerns the appearance, the functionality and ultimately the ethics of our environment – a man-made world created for the hu-man. Emanating from an important design collection and the vast archive at Domaine de Boisbuchet, this exhibition emphasizes the gender related characteristics of our object’s identity. It provokes and engages visitors with an installation of objects, images, documents and texts and invites to a re-discovery of daily life, habits and bias.
RECEPTION, THE CAFE SUR LA VIENNE, THE SHOP
The mill, by the river Vienne, functions as the Domaine de Boisbuchet’s welcoming reception with a cafe and terrace. A shop alongside offers a selection of books, products and other souvenirs.
