WORKSHOP “WHEN THE CLOUD MEET THE SUN”

Led by Marine Col, this workshop welcomed five students from Emerald Hill School, China, to explore the vegetation of the Charente region through observation, collection, and material experimentation.

Local plants were gathered and investigated through drawing, changes of scale, cyanotype printing, and paper sculpture.The workshop also introduced the principles of map composition and examined the needs of the site during periods of extreme heat, considering the role of vegetation in creating a more resilient landscape. By combining field research with hands-on making, it encouraged new ways of observing and representing the local environment.
